Travel Visa

Citizens of the U.S., Canada, and Australia need a travel visa to enter Brazil. Getting a travel visa is a simple process and can be done online. Airports

Guarulhos Airport (GRU)

GRU is the largest international airport in the area that offers direct flights. You can find a direct flight from Dulles, JFK, and Miami, just to name a few. This airport is closest to São Paulo and is about an hour drive from the venue.

Viracopos International Airport (VCP)

VCP is an international airport, but smaller than GRU. This airport is closer to the venue, but will likely require a connection.

Our venue, Fazenda Santa Barbara, dates back to 1868 when it functioned as the main house of a coffee farm. It is located in the countryside of Itatiba, a small city less than an hour from São Paulo.

Venue

We recommend staying for 1-2 nights in Itatiba, so you're close to the venue.There will be shuttles providing transportation from the hotels below to the venue and back on the wedding day.There will also be valet parking at the venue if you choose to drive.If you're planning on staying longer in the area, we recommend staying in the larger city of São Paulo. Feel free to reach out for recommendations and advice!

We assume this is most people’s first trip to Brazil, so be sure to follow these tips to stay safe and have the best trip possible!

1. Don’t carry around your phone visible in your hand. Instead, keep it tucked away in your purse or front pocket.

2. Don’t wear flashy or valuable jewelry while you’re out exploring the city.

3. Because Brazil is close to the equator, the sun feels stronger than you might be used to. Make sure to use sunscreen daily to avoid sunburns.

4. Ubers are very safe and cheap and are our suggestion for how to get around. Take Uber Black or the highest/most expensive category available, avoid Uber X.

5. You can exchange some cash for Brazilian currency for emergencies, but most everywhere takes credit card or Apple Pay. If prompted to choose a currency, always select R$ / BRL for the best exchange rate with no additional fees.

An iconic street filled with constantly changing street art and graffiti murals. The surrounding Vila Madalena neighborhood is filled with local stores, bars, restaurants, and coffee shops to visit.

Pinacoteca de São Paulo

The Pinacoteca de São Paulo is a visual arts museum focused on Brazilian production from the 19th century to the present. Founded in 1905 by the Government of the state of São Paulo, the Pinacoteca is the oldest art museum in the city.

The 2026 World Cup is being hosted in the US/Canada/Mexico from Jun 11, 2026 until Jul 19, 2026. Brazil will be playing during the week before the wedding, so join in on the soccer craze and catch a game on TV.
